It was in July 2005, my then 75-year old widow grandmother cancelled her flood insurance. She was living on a fixed income and she believed that there would never be a hurricane or flood so bad in which she would need flood insurance. So with an arrogant spirit she cancelled her flood insurance. Little did she know that in a month one of the worst hurricanes in history would flood her home with over 6 feet of water.

With a sense of humor, she turned and asked me, "You think I can call my insurance company and tell them I was playing?"
